Maintain Infection Control is a required pre-requisite for any Cosmetic Tattooing course.
In this course, you will gain the skills and knowledge required to maintain infection control during skin penetration treatments. This course is a Nationally Accredited Training unit. Students will receive a government approved Statement of Attainment on successful completion.
SHBBINF002 Maintain infection control standards for skin penetration can also be used as a credit towards HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration (requirement for PAS licence with local councils within Queensland).
The program provides learners with skills and knowledge to identify, manage and control infection risks to clients, self and work colleagues.
As a result of this program, participants will be able to:
Comply with infection control regulations and guidelines and related legal obligations
Monitor hygiene of premises
Maintain infection control for skin penetration treatments
Sterilise equipment and maintain steriliser
Maintain awareness of clinic design for control of infection risks

The course consists of 2 x written (theory) assessments and one practical observation assessment which consists of taking a number of short videos.
